Mission
Rooted in the Catholic faith and guided by the Classical Learning philosophy of Charlotte Mason, we exist to support homeschooling families who desire to cultivate wonder, virtue, and wisdom in their children. We seek “to form in each child right habits of thinking and behaving, and to nourish them daily with loving, right, and noble ideas.”
Our name, Veritas et Virtus—“truth and virtue”—beautifully expresses what we strive for in our children and in ourselves.
About the Founder

Lauren is the founder of Veritas et Virtus Learning. As a homeschooling mother of 13+ years, she is passionate about providing a living Catholic education rooted in the Charlotte Mason philosophy — one that cultivates wonder, virtue, and a love of truth — from birth through adulthood. Drawing from her homeschooling experience and in building learning communities, she seeks to support families in raising children with strong habits, generous hearts, and a lifelong love of learning.
Lauren has three boys, ages 13, 10 and 8. She and her oldest are Second Dan Black Belts in Tae Kwon Do. Her middle son is a math whiz who regularly blows her mind during math lessons. Her youngest is an accomplished (home) gymnast who regularly wows the family with his flips and tricks.
Her family lives in Mount Holly, North Carolina, just outside of Charlotte.
When she isn't teaching her children or building on this resource, Lauren spends her time with her family reading good books, baking homemade bread, and (one of our favorite hobbies!) geocaching! She also has a professional photography business: https://www.laurenaruparphotography.com/ She loves capturing memories of families, newborns, weddings and -- her favorite: Catholic Sacraments.
